IMG_1037We know that visiting a church for the first time can be a little intimidating, so we want to do all we can to make your first experience at Massaponax Baptist Church (MBC) a positive one. Here is some information that will help answer some questions you may have before arriving.

What to Wear

There are some that choose to dress up in suits and dresses, but most people choose to dress more casual. Come the way that you feel most comfortable. Our pastor is known to wear jeans, polos, button ups, or even a football jersey!

Parking

There is parking on the Rt. 1 side of our facility as well on the Massaponax Church Road side directly across from Fasmart. Many folks feel it is safer to enter from the Massaponax Church road entrance and use the connector road behind the church to access the parking on the Rt. 1 side. Exiting through the parking lot across from Fasmart gives you access to a stoplight to travel north on Rt. 1.

Coffee and Fellowship 9:00 a.m.

Want a cup of coffee and a snack prior to Bible Study? Want to sit and chat with friends or family? Our Fellowship Hall is the place to relax and connect with others. The fellowship hall is on the main level of the education building.

Bible Study for All Ages 9:15 a.m.

The entrance to the education building is under the porch where the two buildings meet beside the Rt. 1 parking lot. The age appropriate locations are as follows:
• Nursery and all pre-K children meet in the preschool wing which is to the left and up the ramp on the right.
• Children in grades 1-5 are straight up the stairs.
• Youth in grades 6-12 are to your left and down the stairs on the right.
• Young adults through middle age are straight up the stairs.
• Senior adult classes are through the double doors off the fellowship hall.
But don’t worry there will be plenty of people to point you in the right direction!

Worship 10:30 a.m. contemporary

The entrance to the church sanctuary faces Massaponax Church Road. An usher will greet you with a smile and give you a give you a program which includes church announcements and will help you find a seat if necessary. This time is set aside for communicating with God from our hearts. Traditional service features hymns while contemporary service features live upbeat modern worship songs, as well as, more intimate songs of worship with guitars, drums, and piano. We know that everyone worships in his or her own unique way and for many, that means singing & clapping, and for others it means quietly reflecting on the lyrics.

Offering

One of the ways we worship God is through the giving of tithes and offerings. As a guest, please do not feel any pressure to give. This act of worship is one of the ways we thank and honor God for who He is and the great work He is doing in our lives. These tithes and offerings give MBC the means to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with others in this community.

The Message

You will always hear a biblically based message that will apply to you no matter where you are on life’s journey. The messages quite often include culturally relevant videos. We trust that these messages will help you develop a stronger relationship with Jesus Christ or perhaps hear about Him for the first time.

Children

Children are encouraged to attend age-based Sunday school classes. During the 10:30 a.m. contemporary service, nursery services are provided for children birth-5 years old. while children in kindergarten through fifth grade are encouraged to attend children’s church.

The nursery is located in the preschool wing though the door on the front right of the sanctuary and just up the ramp. You can also access the preschool wing through the education wing entrance and up ramp to the left. We will have plenty of people to guide you in the right direction though! We want you to know that we will treat your child as they are our own. We have taken numerous safety precautions to allow you to feel comfortable while we are taking care of your child. Please feel free to ask us any questions about how we handle this process.

Communion

The first Sunday of each month we celebrate communion together. Anyone who has made the decision to follow Jesus Christ is welcome to participate in this time of reflection and prayer. The juice and bread we share represent the life He willingly gave up so that our sins could be forgiven.
