The deacons of the church act as servants of the church, leading it in the achievement of its purposes, proclaiming the Gospel to believers and non-believers, caring for the church’s members and other persons in the community and developing a plan of redemption and reconciliation according to the Biblical model of Matthew 18:15-17 and 2 Corinthians 2:4-8 in all matters of church discipline.

The deacons assist the pastor in the operations of the church, including preparing and serving the Lord’s Supper monthly.

The church has many deacons, with some on reserve status. Once a man or woman is called to serve as a deacon, he or she is still a deacon, even when on reserve.
